Our first Public Affairs video!!

We've gotten some great feedback on a video we created for Mormon Newsroom in Hong Kong. You can see it here on the Mormon Newsroom site, or just watch it below:

These amazing women were great to work with as we put together this piece. Elder Chamberlain learned how to use some video tools, and we all benefited after seeing how much faith these LDS women have. Most of them have children and family members they see only occasionally because they are away working in Hong Kong. These mothers want to go home so badly. Many have children that are in the care of husbands, aunts or parents and they have not been able to be part of their lives.

Natasha's Baptism

Natasha (second from left) was baptized. She is from Beijing and she is shown here with her parents (her immediate left and right). The woman on the far right is a member from Natasha's Beijing ward who comes to the Hong Kong temple every two months to be a temple worker.

Dragon Back Hike and Big Wave Beach

Contrary to what many believe, senior missionaries ARE able to swim. We had an amazing time with Elder and Sister Orton hiking 3 hours to Big Wave Beach on Hong Kong Island. We didn't know it at the time, but the waves at the beach were actually much bigger than normal due to a typhoon in the Philippines. Our "boogie boarding" was not the prettiest sight, but it sure was a lot of fun.

Intense concentration

We had 8 foot waves sometimes

Take me away!!

Yup, I'm happy about that last one.
