Feb. 2018--Big Rooster Legs on the Mekong Delta

So many emotions as we visited Southeast Asia. Vietnam and Cambodia were battlefields when we were growing up. Visiting sites that were often mentioned on the 5 o'clock news in the 60s and 70s was surreal. Here we were on the Mekong Delta.

From Ho Chi Minh City, we took a chartered bus to the Mekong Delta, where we rode boats to some sites along the river. Here, a group of musicians performed beautiful Vietnamese songs while we ate.

Can you believe those rooster legs? This rooster was bred for fighting. Who could win against legs like that?

Awesome voyage along the river.

At one point, we had to ride in some land vehicles.

Some of our lunch.

We rode various watercraft, including some like this. This is the boat ahead of ours. Our boat "captain" was a woman who sounded like she had a lung disease, and was wheezing the entire time she was pushing the pole.
